Course Name: Physical Education 3 ED
Course Description
Students explore a multitude of fitness activities through online reading, animations demonstrating fitness skills, and hands-on practice. Lessons emphasize proper form and execution of skills, rules of games, good sportsmanship, and an understanding of all that goes into the term “physical fitness.” Students exercise daily with workouts tailored to coordinate with the topics they are reading and learning about in the online component of the course. Workouts include creative and fun warmups, focus activities, and cooldowns, which students log and submit to their teacher. Students solidify the learning process by explaining what they have learned in writing. Topics include:
- Components of Fitness – muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, balance, cardiovascular health
- Fitness and Health – nutrition, heart rate, stress management
- Safety – equipment, weather safety, proper warmups, rules of the road
- Team Sports – basketball, football, soccer, kickball, and volleyball
- Individual Activities – yoga, gymnastics
- Rhythm – understanding rhythm, dance moves, choreography
- Character – good sportsmanship, perseverance, inclusive activities

Course Description

Course Name: Physical Education 5 ED
Course Description
Students will develop the knowledge and skills they need to make positive fitness decisions to stay active, safe, and informed, as teenagers and adults. The lessons and activities introduce important aspects of physical health and fitness and focus on helping students learn new fitness skills and stay active. Students will set fitness goals and assess their progress throughout the course. Students will use daily Fitness Plans to guide their physical activity and Fitness Logs to track their activity.

Course Description
The sixth-grade physical education course introduces students to health-related fitness components, dance, team sports, and lifetime activities. Students learn the essential principles to live a healthy, active lifestyle. The lessons give students exposure to many activities that can be incorporated into their daily lives today, tomorrow, and in the future.

Course Name: OTH07 Physical Education 7
Course Description
Seventh grade students are exposed to diverse activities and learn a wide variety of fitness concepts that they can use in their everyday lives. Students learn skills for lifelong activities, such as strength training and power walking, as well as several options for aerobic activities. They are able to measure their progress and accomplishments through the completion of fitness tests. On completing this course, students will have the knowledge to stay fit and active beyond middle school.

Course Description
In the eighth-grade physical education course, students are exposed to various physical activities and fitness concepts that contribute to their overall physical activity level. Students learn a multitude of skills that will accompany them throughout their lives. Skills and concepts include target heart rate, the basics of fitness testing, goal setting, flexibility, aerobic/anaerobic exercise, strength training, and other individual games and activities, as well as team sports. This course gives students fitness knowledge and skills that can be incorporated into their lives now and in the future.

Course Name: CAR010 Business & Healthcare Exp
Course Description
In this course students explore basic concepts in the broad areas of business and healthcare, as well as career options in each area.
Business – Students explore how do business ideas become businesses, how products are marketed, and how to know if a business is making or losing money, in the business portion of this course. In addition to studying concepts of entrepreneurship, accounting and marketing, students explore these concepts on scales that range from a single person to nations.
Healthcare – This course introduces students to the various disciplines within the health sciences, including toxicology, clinical medicine, and biotechnology. Students explore the importance of diagnostics and research in the identification and treatment of diseases.

Course Description
This course introduces students to the various disciplines within the health sciences, including toxicology, clinical medicine, and biotechnology. The course presents information and terminology for the health sciences and examines the contributions of different health science areas.

Course Name: OTH094-DYN Health Science II
Course Description
In this course, students learn more about what it takes to be a successful health science professional, including how to communicate with patients. They explore the rights and responsibilities of both patients and health science professionals in patient care and learn more about how to promote wellness among patients and health care staffs. They also learn more about safety in health science settings and the challenges and procedures of emergency care, infection control, and blood-borne pathogens.
