Carolus Online Academy Launches Carolus Cares: Project Give Back
Virtual School Announces Initiative to Support At-Risk Students Across South Carolina Through Resources, Education, and Community
Carolus Online Academy (COA) is thrilled to announce the launch of our new program, Carolus Cares: Project Give Back! This exciting initiative is all about supporting at-risk students within our virtual school community and across the state of South Carolina. We’re on a mission to give back, provide essential resources, and create a nurturing educational environment for students facing economic and social challenges that prevent them from reaching their full potential in the classroom.
At COA, we’re proud to be part of a community that cares deeply about our students’ success. With 84% of our students classified as economically disadvantaged—significantly higher than the state average of 61%—and over 50 students identified as homeless under the McKinney-Vento Act, we know just how important it is to step up and support our families. Carolus Cares is our commitment to doing just that.
“We are deeply committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of their circumstances, have access to the resources they need to succeed,” says Pamela Sieger, Executive Director of Carolus Online Academy. “Carolus Cares: Project Give Back is our way of showing that we are here to support our students, families, and beyond.”
To kick off this transformative initiative, we’re hosting a series of exciting events across the state, starting with our Back-to-School Event in Columbia, SC, at our school district office tomorrow. This free community event is packed with resources, entertainment, and fun for the whole family! Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store:

- Photo Booth: Capture memories with your friends and colleagues.
- Book Blast Table: Discover new reads and take home some fantastic books.
- Marketing Booth: Learn about our latest initiatives and exciting campaigns.

And that’s not all—come hungry because Kusina Food Truck and Soul D’Licious Food Truck will be serving up delicious eats! Plus, don’t miss out on our raffles for a chance to win some exciting prizes!
We’re also excited to partner with the South Carolina Public Charter School District, whose motto “Kids First” aligns perfectly with our mission. “Through programs like Carolus Cares, we can help address the broader needs of our students and their families, ensuring they have a strong foundation for success,” says Brad Henry, Executive Director of External Affairs with the SC Public Charter School District.
Join us tomorrow for this unforgettable event and be a part of making a difference in the lives of students across South Carolina! Whether you’re a COA family or part of the broader community, we’re excited to see you there and share in the fun and impact together!
