From Page-Turner to Problem-Solver: Kylee’s Summer of Reading, Building & Creating 

For Carolus Online Academy fourth grader Kylee A., summer break doesn’t mean taking a break from learning. Year after year, she has challenged herself to read more, explore new ideas, and most importantly, have fun while doing it! 

Kylee’s love of summer reading began between first and second grade, when she set an ambitious goal and ended up reading an incredible 100 books. Her accomplishment even earned her recognition at her previous virtual school and the opportunity to participate in a news interview! 

But Kylee wasn’t finished. 

The following summer, between second and third grade, she raised the bar and read an amazing 150 books.  

100 Books, and So Much More! 

This summer, Kylee once again reached the 100-book milestone, but reading was only part of her adventure. 

She put her creativity and curiosity to work by building a robot, constructing a catapult, and making her own slime. From engineering and experimenting to reading and creating, Kylee found plenty of ways to keep learning all summer long. 

She also completed Second Lady Usha Vance’s Summer Reading Challenge, adding another accomplishment to an already impressive summer! 

Kylee’s projects show that learning can happen anywhere, and sometimes the best learning happens when you’re willing to get a little creative (and maybe a little messy!). 

A Phoenix Who Loves to Learn 

Now a fourth grader at Carolus Online Academy, Kylee is bringing that same enthusiasm for learning into another school year. 

We love seeing our Phoenix students discover what interests them, set goals for themselves, and find creative ways to keep growing beyond the virtual classroom. 

Kylee, congratulations on another incredible summer! From 100 books to robots, catapults, and slime, you certainly know how to read, create, explore, and finish strong! 

We can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!
