A New Beginning at Carolus Online Academy

Aiden didn’t always have a great experience with school, but his experience with Carolus Online Academy (COA) has changed that completely.  Aiden credits the flexibility, supportive teachers, and inclusive environment with helping him thrive both academically and personally.

Before transitioning to online learning, Aiden faced significant challenges, including personal struggles that made it difficult to stay engaged in a traditional classroom. “There was so much going on in my life, and it just became too much,” he shared. But Carolus Online Academy has given him a fresh start. “This year, I’m surprisingly keeping good grades for once,” Aiden said, proudly noting how the supportive structure has allowed him to focus and succeed.

One of the key differences for Aiden has been the level of engagement from his teachers at Carolus Online Academy. “They’re definitely more involved than my brick-and-mortar teachers,” Aiden explained. He specifically mentioned how his teachers provide constant support, encouragement, and communication, helping him stay on track. For Aiden, this personalized connection has been pivotal. “They give you the time and the tools you need to succeed, and they really care about how you’re doing,” he said.

Building Connections and Leadership Online

Socialization, often considered a challenge for virtual school students, has been a positive experience for Aiden at COA. Through interactive class chats, he’s built meaningful connections with peers and become an active participant in his virtual classroom.

“At first, I didn’t really chat much,” he admitted, “but once I started talking to my teachers, I felt comfortable engaging with my classmates.” Now, Aiden describes himself as a leader in his online classes, often encouraging other students to participate and helping create a vibrant, connected environment.
